Swing-Away Lateral Thoracic Supports

Improving trunk control and lateral stability to help maintain proper posture.

To enhance lateral support beyond the depth of a JAY back, the JAY Swing-Away Lateral Thoracic Supports can be added. These are designed for riders who may have a postural tendency to lean towards the side and respond positively to having extended support. Two styles are available to meet specific needs. The standard JAY Swing-Away Lateral Thoracic Support provides additional depth where it is placed on the JAY back support. The Rotational style will pivot to an angle that can better match a body curve, providing surface area support exactly where needed. Three points of control at the trunk and pelvis can assist with providing the forces needed to assist with postural support.

Versatile positioning

The JAY Swing-Away Lateral's slim profile allows it to be mounted either internally or externally on the shell to create a personalized fit. It's available with a variety of lateral pad sizes and longer slots on the pad brackets for flexibility in pad placement.

JAY Rotational Swing-Away Lateral Support

Add a third plane of adjustment to allow the lateral to be angled to match the trunk shape and position for the most complex scoliosis. The lateral pads rotate to meet contour angles and precise alignment. These laterals can be placed exactly where needed so that posture is accommodated and protected. Combine the lateral with a JAY back & cushion, a Whitmyer® headrest, and trunk support to provide optimal positioning for clients.

Improved positioning & locking strength

A two pivot point design with interlocking teeth allows for 100mm (3.9") of adjustment and improved locking strength. This helps to keep the lateral positioned where it's needed to help improve stability, posture, and balance.

Upholstery options

Comes standard with a 3DX cover and pad. Stretch, premium leatherette, or reverse Dartex cover options are available through JAY Your Way.
