Frequently Asked Questions
What is the benefit of the air insert on the J3 Cushion?
The air insert provides the highest level of skin protection. In addition, the dual valve air insert can be used to correct the posture of clients that sit with irregular posture positions. If, however, the client does not have an irregular posture but requires the highest level of skin protection, then the single valve air insert would be suitable.
is it possible to modify the shape of the well in a J3 Cushion after the cushion has been purchased?
Yes, the ideal places to cut away from depending on the relief required are listed on the last page of the J3 Cushion order form.
What does "PLA" stand for?
PLA stands for "Pelvic Loading Area" which means the seat well. The size of the well depends on the size of the cushion. The three different PLA sizes are designed to ensure that the seat well is built at the optimum size to support the client's bone structure.
How do you know which PLA size is needed when ordering spares for the J3 Cushion?
Cross-reference the size of the cushion to the matrix on the first page of the order form.
Does the seat well increase with the size of the J3 Cushion?
Yes, however the well size is set as one of three sizes. The well or PLA size will depend on the size of the cushion. Which PLA size is selected can be found by matching the size of the cushion on the matrix on the front page of the JAY J3 order form.
